Today, we are launching Protopica 2.0:


A clearer home for the work we do and the people we hope to build with.

Protopica is a design research lab that turns emerging technologies into meaningful public experiences. We consult, build, and teach across immersive exhibitions, worldbuilding, cultural preservation, creative technology, and education.

Our new website brings that work together in one place: projects tested with real audiences, collaborations with creators and organizations, lectures and workshops, and the team behind the practice.

We also wanted the website itself to reflect how we think. It begins around a digital fire, then opens into a slower, more intentional space where analog storytelling and computational aesthetics meet.

This release is a foundation for what comes next. We will use it to share new work, field notes, open experiments, and practical ways to build something new without losing what makes it human.
